Don't you hate it when you stick up for the underdog, then they win and become the big dog. Then you become the underdog and no one's sticking up for you?

WHOOP! Got it for (um, rough estimate because I'm terrible at calculating percentages) off!
This is my first metal watch and unfortunately, I now understand hairy men's problems with metal watches (yes, unfortunate that I can relate to hairy men :|). They have a problem with their arm hair getting caught between the band and yea... I can see how that's annoying now.
It's shiny and pretty. I likey. |

| Epic/colossal structures (preferably broken?): |
[Feb. 6th, 2010|04:13 am] |
My favorite of this "epic" series. I should save the best for last, but I'm so excited that I did this first! Only because I may never get around to doing more.
4-toed foot(whose origins/identity has been revealed already) from LOST, of course. This intrigued/fascinated me from the very beginning. Nothing much was mentioned of it from its introduction, people didn't talk about it, no one really cared, except for me. It was always on top of my "I NEED THE ANSWERS TO THIS" list. This may have been what started my fondness for these epic/colossal structures.
Colossus of Rhodes, statue of the Greek god, Helios. One of the "Ancient wonders of the world." Look familiar? That's because the Statue of Liberty's design was inspired by this. However, that picture is just a depiction of what it could've looked like, not what it really looked like. Anyway, it was destroyed in 226 BC. From what I understand, the whereabouts of the remains of the debris is unknown. They're planning on "rebuilding" the structure as of 2008 but idk... :/
Found this on Tumblr, don't know anything bout it.
Found this on Tumblr too, don't know anything about it either. But I'd love to see this in person!
"The Awakening" but I call it "OH, THE AGONY!!" I immediately fell in love with this statue the first time I saw this picture (from a fashion editorial with Lily Cole, I can't remember which.) I told myself I MUSTTTTT come here. It used to be located(in the picture) at a park in Washington D.C., but have now been relocated to a harbor in Maryland where the surrounding is definitely inferior (to me at least). So now I don't want to see it as much anymore :(. It's just not the same...
I'm not one of those people who gets really inspired by their dreams. My dreams tend to be pretty boring and are usually of realistic situations. But once about a month or so ago, I had a dream about a colossal sculpture. You can enter it and inside was a museum (but really, I'd rather live there lol). Anyway, I can't tell you what it is because it's TOP SECRET! This was probably one of the most (if not the most!) creatively inspirational dreams I've ever had. There would be no way I could ever build this though, unless I become some super world-renowned designer/architect or something and/or own a part of the ocean/an island, etc. LOOK, I've already given too much away. (If you're my IRL friend, I can tell you/show you my sketch or something, maybe... if I feel like it.) (Slightly off-topic, remember Nacho-Burger!?! LOL Yea... definitely doesn't compare to this. Although I still think that's a DECENT IDEA!) Maybe I can build a mini one one day in my backyard or something, but that would be inferior, and the whole point is for it to be SUPERIOR--EPIC, right!? So yea, oxymoron, nevermind, I've already decided against the mini version. GO BIG OR GO HOME!
Anyway, if anyone knows anymore epic/colossal statues, sculptures, structures, etc. SHARE! Or if you have any additional information on these, SHARE!
I think I just realized I also have a love for ruins. I LOVE THE ANCIENT WORLD. FCK THIS MODERN SHIT.

| EPIC series |
[Feb. 6th, 2010|03:24 am] |
I recently realize among the things I subconsciously find myself enjoying/liking are epics. All definitions of the term:
1. noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style: Homer's Iliad is an epic poem. 2. resembling or suggesting such poetry: an epic novel on the founding of the country. 3. heroic; majestic; impressively great: the epic events of the war. 4. of unusually great size or extent: a crime wave of epic proportions.
Or even in the way we young people describe things lately, as epic, such as: OMG THAT ____ WAS EPIC!
Or maybe just anything dramatic.
I'll be making several separate posts on each epic thing that I like. (Yea, I do have better things/more important things to do, but... iunno.) |

| More Lost entries |
[Feb. 6th, 2010|02:26 am] |
Better late than never. I obviously didn't do the 5 I was meaning to do to countdown to the final season premiere (sounds like an oxymoron haha) because I was busy last weekend. Anyway,

James "Sawyer" Ford aka hottest motherf*cker on Lost
I'm hoping in this new *SPOILER* ~~pa~ra~~l~l~el~~u~ni~~ve~r~se~~*SPOILER END* storyline, that JACK (aka me) and Sawyer will be doing it in the bear cage as opposed to Kate. YEA. In this new storyline, there would totally be some gay lovin' on the island. Anyway, I don't have much to say about Sawyer other than he's my favorite island hottie.
Um a while back, we had a child together (some of you may recall). For those who don't:
OMG SO CUTE RIGHT!? LIKE, I TOTALLY CARRY THIS PICTURE AROUND IN MY WALLET AND SHOW IT OFF. ALSO, IN CASE I RUN INTO HIM, I'LL BE LIKE "LOOK, THIS IS WHAT OUR FUTURE CHILD WOULD LOOK LIKE. LET'S CONCEIVE HIM RIGHT NOW!" LOL... No, I don't think I'm ridiculous... (btw I'm jk, I swear!)
My car, James:
(SEE! I told you stuff would start making sense! You gotta provide ANSWERS in the last season right!?) LOOK, even my license plate says "sexy me". ASLKJfsd!!! Okay, maybe I'm a little ridiculous...but it's okay.
AND THE HBIC FYT:

Kicking your ass in 3..2.. |

| Full time "art" student |
[Feb. 4th, 2010|11:08 pm] |
At least for this semester, which was why I dropped my other classes, for those who were wondering.
I finally saw a counselor and found out that I actually don't need to take 3 of the 4.5 classes I'm taking this semester. I'm actually closer to being done with my GE than I thought! Since I need 12units to be a full time student (for financial aid) I had to add some classes, so I thought I'd just add some interior design classes since that's what I'll most likely end up majoring in.
Anyway, so I dropped: -Intro to Oceanography -Intro to Philosophy -Intro to Sociology
and added: -Interior Architectural Drafting -Color Theory and Application -Art History: Medieval to 20th Century
Along with: -Expressive Drawing -Intro to Int. Design
Sooo yea! Bunch of art classes. My art kits for the classes add up to ~$500... LOVELY. That's not including books and additional supplies. SO I'M KINDA BROKE Y'ALL BUT IT'S OKAYS. What I'm most concerned about is WHERE I'll be doing all my work because my place is WAY too small for me to do any kind of art work. I literally have NO space to do anything. UGH! |

| "0" Gauges |
[Feb. 4th, 2010|12:30 am] |
Because there has been some confusion as to if my plugs are real or fake and/or how big my gauge is, here's some clarification:
I normally wear these wooden plugs:
Ignore the mole thing--it was for a previous post. I was just talking about how I've noticed my moles have migrated throughout the years. It still fascinates me...
To see how big they are with eyelets:

Without anything:

It's been 11months since I've had them at this size.

| Day one: Philosophy and Art (Expressive Drawing) |
[Feb. 1st, 2010|09:44 pm] |
Philosophy: I almost fell asleep. Nothing unusual. -------------------------------- (click pictures to enlarge)
Draw an elephant in an Indian temple. 5minutes, go!

Girl chose mine as her favorite, her comment/review: It looks intimidating. And messy.
For a second, I couldn't tell if she was describing the elephant or me. :|
Drawing two: Draw an airplane, an island with 1 palm tree, and another object of your choice. 5min.

You probably can't tell, but that black thing, is a broken statue of a 4 toed leg. Why you ask? Because this is my LOST reference of the day. I would've drawn a broken airplane, but it would've been more likely that my classmates would've thought that I was corrupt/disturbed rather than get the Lost reference. So just for first-impressions sake, I played it safe, because I'd like to make a friend or two.
Draw a vampire. 5min.

Draw something you'd never eat:
Funny, there was a guy that drew escargot as well, because he too has a phobia of snails/slugs!!! ONLY OTHER PERSON I'VE EVER MET. I'm not alone!
------------------- Yeah, ~philosophy and art~. Carrying around my huge portfolio that I'm too short for (I have to carry it over my back otherwise it'd be dragging on the floor), going from my philosophy class to my art studio.... sheesh I sound like a fucking cliché. Oh, and when I said escargot, my art prof started asking me stuff in French, to which I just answered "non" [in a horrid French accent] repeatedly, hoping "non" would be an acceptable answer to the questions I weren't able to understand.
YAY so excited to draw!!

| WE HAVE TO GO BACK!! |
[Jan. 29th, 2010|04:08 am] |
"So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in, let it take over, let it do its thing, but only for five seconds, that's all I was going to give it. So I started to count: one, two, three, four, five. Then it was gone."
Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE LOST. It's basically the closest thing I have to a religion. Anyway, to celebrate 5 days until the beginning of the end--the last season EVER, I will try to make a LOST-related post each day.
 Jack Shephard
I will start off with Jack Shephard aka ME. I find myself eerily similar to this fictional man, more than any other fictional person I've ever come across.
Right, aren't all fictional characters meant to be universal? That's how you get attached... attached to these fictional characters that make you laugh, angry, cry, etc. That's what keeps you watching right? You become a part of their life. You see them grow as a person, form relationships, end relationships, make difficult decisions, dumb decisions, etc. Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is: you, as a viewer/reader/observer, form a bond with these characters... as I have with Jack Shephard.
I'm not going to analyze Jack's characteristics here; that would be like analyzing myself here, and that's just weird. That's what my physical journal is for anyway hah.
So if you're familiar with Jack, then there you go. If not, then may I suggest this epicness that is LOST to you?
*JEARS*
my bb, Jack, fyt:
(It's kinda making sense now right? haha)
If we can't live together, we're going to die alone.
Yours truly, An |
